    • "Romantic Heritage" As is her trademark, Ghea Panggabean is always inspired by the rich cultural and textile heritage of Indonesia. This collection is inspired by the Chinese influence in textile and embroidery, known as the "Peranakan culture", as well as the beautiful batik from Java and songket from Sumatra. In vibrant pastels and her signature maroon and gold accent, the collection consist of flowing kaftans and long tunic scarves combined with dresses and long pants. Intricate embroideries of floral and ceremonial motifs of Indonesian textiles in pastels and gold threads adorn the pieces, all of which are embellished with beautiful beadworks. The collection is a cultural journey into a heritage that is uniquely and romantically Indonesia.

    • Born in Rotterdam ond educated in Europe, Ghea is responsible for a renaissance in Indonesia's rich ethnic textile traditions. Upon graduation from a fashion college in London, she returned home to establish her design studio and has since opened several branches in Jakarta. Ghea was determined to establish on Indonesian identity based on Indonesia's rich heritage. While maintaining the basic principles, design, motifs, colours, layout and fabrics were adapted to modern tots for today's fashion trend. Making strong use of folklore elements, her textiles became o trademark in the Indonesian fashion scene. The highly successful ".Jumpulon" iie-dyed [obric {the "Pelongi Palembang") which has become trademark, was the first of a series of fabric adaptations that have reowakened interest in Indonesia's traditional textile design and techniques. She has olso developed various adaptations of songket styles, batik ond others. In 1987, she received the 1Oth Best of ASEAN Designers Award in Singapore and the "Apparel Trophy" as Indonesia's Best Ready-to-Wear designer from the country's major fashion publications. Her other achievements include the "Adikarya Wisata Award" from the Department of Tourist Promotion Boord.
